Halloween costumes: use what you already have at home

You don’t have to go far to put together some fun Halloween costumes. With a black garment and a touch of heavy make-up, you can transform yourself into several classic creatures. For example, with a black t-shirt and pants, add a nose and whiskers drawn on with eyeliner, and voilà, you’re a black cat! The ears can be made out of cardboard or paper cut out and glued to a headband.

If you’re after something bolder, a black outfit can easily turn you into a Halloween witch. Just add a hat, which you can make from paper, and some dark lipstick, and you’re ready for the party. And if your creative streak leads you to tear up some paper towels, wrap yourself in them and you’ll become a mummy, or use a white sheet with holes for the eyes to become a classic ghost. If you prefer the dark glamour of a vampire, a white shirt, black trousers, and a dark waistcoat – or a black overcoat – along with makeup to make your face paler and more shadowy, complete the look.
